The Ambassadors

The Ambassadors are a twelve member jazz ensemble of the US Air Forces in Europe Band, stationed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Since its inception in 1945, the group has performed a broad cross section of American jazz through-out Europe and Asia.

A highly versatile ensemble, the band’s performances can be tailored to support a wide variety of situations, from background music for official military functions, to feature performances at jazz festivals and in concert halls. Although the band’s history is rooted in the music of Glenn Miller, the current repertoire includes familiar favorites and cutting edge contemporary arrangements. In addition to its big band jazz capability, the Ambassadors also present a variety of smaller ensembles. The first is an eight piece rock band with horns that covers a selection of hard hitting vocal features that highlight the best of American popular music. Also, a four piece combo can perform anything from small group jazz to a pop music show with vocals.

Lastly, the band presents educational programs that supplement the DODEA curriculum. These programs feature informative and entertaining concerts, as well as individual and group master classes that focus on performance techniques. Regardless of the occasion, the Ambassadors have a multitude of musical products that will make any event a complete success.
